laptop comparison

To make a smart decision when buying a laptop computer, it is wise to pick out a few models you like and compare them. Only after you have completed a detailed comparison of their main features can you then make an educated buying decision.
There are quite a few different areas that you should compare.
Mac or PC
This first area is not so much a comparison as it is a choice. You first have to decide if you want to purchase a Mac or a PC. Now, you could argue for hours on which one is better and which one will suit your needs better. Therefore, this is a totally personal decision and you will have to make it by yourself. Generally speaking, Mac’s and PC’s can do all the same things, in pretty similar ways. Macs are usually a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Once you make the decision on whether you want a Mac or a PC, you can then start to look at other issues.
Size
You have to decide which size of screen you want. Laptop screens range anywhere from 12 inches all the way up to 17 or 19 inches. Go to a store and compare each size to each other in relation to what you will be using the computer for. If you are doing a lot of gaming or graphic design, a larger screen would be better. If you are looking for mobility, a smaller screen would probably be better. Just compare the different sizes and decide what you need.
Processor Speed
The next thing you have to compare between prospective computers is the processor speed. This is important, but is not as important as it was in the past. Processor speeds are not advancing as fast as they were in the past, so your computer will not be outdated in a few months if you don’t buy the fastest processor.
Storage
Storage is another important factor that you need to compare between computers. With more and more people downloading movies and music of the Internet, storage space is becoming more and more important. It is also important to note that you can usually choose which hard drive you get in your computer, so it is not as much an issue as it used to be. Generally speaking, though, more storage is better. Also, don’t forget to see what kind of media drive your computer will come with. If you get one with a DVD burner, you will be able to use DVD’s to store a lot of info.
Memory
The last area you want to compare when buying laptop computers is the amount of memory they have. Usually, more memory means you can have more programs running at once, and they will run faster. Try and get the most memory you can afford.
All the aforementioned areas are important to compare when choosing a laptop computer. If you don’t do detailed comparisons, you may not be happy with the decision you make.
